Sometimes in life we are lucky enough to connect with people who just make us laugh. In the midst of challenging times for so many of us with a national economic crisis bleeding into our everyday lives, it is a joy to find someone who takes those challenges and flips them around to help keep us motivated….all while making us laugh.
It takes a special talent to do it and imagine how delighted we were to find that talent wrapped up in an adorable cheerleading outfit! Our friend JoAnn takes motivational speaking to a whole new level by integrating laughter, everyday life experiences and some clever costumes and turning all of that into inspiration.
And you may question the cheerleading outfit. Is it just something to get attention? Well, sure, JoAnn will not shy away from attention. But it goes deeper than that. When she was in high school, JoAnn always wanted to be a cheerleader. Sadly, her weight and self-consciousness of her size at the time kept her from going after her dream. Fast forward a few years (just a few, JoAnn….we know…) and JoAnn, now a Weight Watchers leader and motivator, has found a way to live her dream all while inspiring others to do the same. For this we say “2…4…6…8….who do we appreciate? JoAnn Contorno!”

Crisis can hit anyone of us at any moment, at times leaving us with the inability to help ourselves. If we need support, we can only hope that someone will lend a hand. But what if you are in the midst of a natural disaster and one of hundreds or thousands who need help?
Or maybe you’re on the other side. You’ve discovered a group of people who need assistance, but writing a check or giving out a few meals doesn’t seem to be enough. What are the challenges you face when trying to really impact their lives?
When tragedy strikes in any form, the journey to help is what changes lives. Go Full Steam Productions has joined forces with Humanitarian Aid Extraordinaire Lisa Hopper to give you a behind the scenes look at the world of humanitarian support and emergency relief in a new show called “Aid Trackers”
While still in production, this show gives insight into the world of humanitarian aid and emergency relief by showing stories of survival, even after the news coverage has stopped. Check out this unique glimpse of the world of international humanitarian aid.
WARNING: This video includes disturbing video taken after a natural disaster. Viewer Discretion is advised.
We’ll admit it. We are Chris Guillebeau groupies! But how can you not be when you learn about his amazing journey and his goal to travel to every country in the world!
For those of you who don’t know Chris, he is a blogger and writer who recently published his new book, “The Art Of Non-Conformity: Set Your Own Rules, Live The Life You Want and Change The World”. Plus, he blogs and inspires us every week at http://chrisguillebeau.com by sharing his travel stories and encouraging us to each live our own remarkable life.
We had the honor of meeting Chris recently as we caught up with him on his recent book tour. He was gracious enough to sit down with us and share some of his thoughts about the book tour, what motivates him and the two most important questions in the universe!
Recognizing those who take risks and challenge the norm in pursuit of life EXTRA-ordinary! We want to show you off! That’s right! We want to show the world your story and passion and how you are pursuing life EXTRA-ordinary!
Of course, we thought you might want to hear a little about us….which means me, Holly Romero, Co-Owner of Go Full Steam Productions. I let Robin (my business partner) off the hook this time! So, here goes….the beginning of my “Go Full Steam” story.
